Float Trip

I went on my first float trip this weekend with friends and family to the Current River. David and I got down there Friday night at ten. Then we drank a few, and went to bed so we could try and get an early start on Saturday morning to head to the river. We left the campsite at 9:30 Saturday morning, we went to the office where we had to rent our rafts and catch a bus to take us to the place along the river where you put your rafts in to start out. The bus ride was horrible, the road was very curvy, straight drop offs on both sides, no shoulders, and it did not help that the bus driver was going way to fast on the road, I told my friend David, I didn’t know if we were going to make it there. When we finally arrived, we put our rafts in the river, and the water was extremely cold, but once you got used to it, it did not feel to bad. About three miles down the river we came to a spot where several people were stopped to take a break, and realized that off to the side there was people jumping off a thirty foot cliff. As soon as my friends seen that they talked me into doing it, so I did and I am glad because it was a lot of fun. The entire trip was a blast! Thanks to all my friends and family I went with!

  1. I love float trips. The bus always goes to fast on the curvy road. Which is not the best, but it is part of the experience of the trip. The camping is always great. When there is drinking involved its makes the trip even better. The water seems to be cold every time I go. The more you have on your trip the better time you have. Family and friends are always nice to have go with you. I hope you go agene and have a good time.

  2. I love float trips, it's been awhile since I've been on one though. Was this your first float trip ever or just this year? I love everything about float trips, the river, the weather, friends, drinking, just having fun. You said you went floating on the current river, I've been on that river before and it is really cold! I think it is spring fed though and that's why it's so cold. It's really beautiful though so clear and clean I Wish I had more time for things like that but with school, work, and my son my plate is more than full. Maybe next year he'll be old enough to go along.
